Halloween Greetings!
Happy Halloween, friends!
I’m sure this will come as a shock to absolutely no one, but I am a big fan of this fun, fabulous holiday. The inner child in me, who spends most of the year being pushed aside by her more responsible counterpart, loves the chance to play dress up and pretend to be just about anything in the world we might want to be: characters we love from the movies, fantastical inhuman creatures, or fashionable representations of the trends of yesteryear.

And of course, the witch in me feels especially in touch with the energies of other dimensions that surround us. This is the time of year when the veil between the living and the dead is at its thinnest, when the seasons gives us a beautiful burst of color just before going into our winter hibernation, and when we get to harvest what we’ve spent the year planting and nurturing.
It also doesn’t hurt that I happen to have been born in late October, so the time of year acts as a renewal for my own goals and aspirations. This past year in particular has been an amazing journey of creating my own opportunities as a writer, traveler, student, and practicing witch, and as Samhain is considered to be a kind of New Year celebration for witches, I couldn’t be more excited to see how the seeds I’ve planted this year will bloom to fruition in the next.
From my witchy home to yours, I hope this time of year finds you celebrating the whimsy of childhood dress up time, sending love to your ancestors, and enjoying all the apple cider and black cat snuggles you can find.
What a blessing to be where we are,
Under the Harvest moon and a sky full of stars.
Ancestors around us, gold leaves at our feet
Releasing the energies we no longer seek.
Sending love to your home and your family tree
See it, so be it, blessed be.
